When it comes to roughing it in the bush there is nothing more important than having reliable equipment and tools. Whether that means a sleeping bag that is going to keep you warm all of the time, or Waterproof Lighters you need to buy gear that is going to last. When you are camping your ability to take spare parts is severely limited; meaning that you have one chance to use the right gear. I have fallen into the trap of buying cheaper gear just because it’s cheaper, but in the long run you lose money because you have to replace the item so often. A Refillable Butane Lighter will go a long way!

There is nothing worse than trying to light a fire with a faulty lighter, or a wet box of matches. Buying Waterproof Lighters is one of the best decisions that I made, because even condensation will get into the jets of the lighter and stop it from working correctly. No lighter means no cooking, and no fires. This means a hungry person and a cold person; something that I would much rather stay away from. This is especially the case when you can buy Waterproof Lighters for only a few dollars more. Most have a small lid which just flips open, and seals shut when you are finished with the lighter.

Of course, they are not designed to be taken underwater with you, but for the normal rain and water spills that tend to happen when you are camping the lighter is usually safe! Having Waterproof Lighters means that they are more protected from the other elements that camping constantly throws at you. Whether that be the dust, or when you knock it off the table, having something that is going to last is the most important thing when it comes to a lighter.

When looking at Waterproof Lighters try and get something that you can refill the gas on as well. There is no point spending extra money on a lighter that is waterproof if you just have to throw it away when the gas runs out. Most of the better quality lighters can either be filled up with a can of Butane or Propane, or you just get another canister to go in. Generally the ones that are just refilled with gas rather than replacing the canisters are cheaper, as you don’t need to pay for the packaging. It’s worth getting a good lighter for your camping, because they are an important item. A Propane Lighter is another good choice for both stoves and fires.
