Propane Lighter
A Propane Lighter is a very popular item when it comes to camping and starting your stove, or making a fire. What is most important though is that you buy a lighter which is going to match what you want to do. Sure, you can go and purchase the cheap disposable lighters from the grocery store, but they are incredibly hard to use to light a stove, or to start a fire. Flame will always go up vertically, and when you have to hold the thumb near the flame outlet and turn a lighter sideways you always get burnt. Instead, get a Propane Lighter which has a long handle, and that can be used by pulling on the trigger without burning yourself. These are great for starting fires, lighting stoves and starting your barbeque. Of course, a Stove Lighter is always better for it's intended use!

On the other hand, you can buy Propane Jet Burners which are able to get much hotter in a matter of seconds. These are handy for lighting things on fire, like timber or paper. They are not really necessary for your standard stove lighting, but they are fun to play around with! A Propane Lighter tends to be the more popular option for camping, as a pose to Butane. Butane burns more efficiently, and is also cheaper to buy. However, it doesn’t handle the rough conditions as well as Propane, and it doesn’t like cold conditions either. Anything below zero will soon see your gas freeze up, meaning your lighter is useless.
A Propane Lighter is that cheap that you aren’t saving a massive amount anyway. Sure, they burn more gas for the same amount of energy but it comes down to a tiny difference. I would prefer a lighter which is going to start time after time than one that cost me a little less! If you are going to get one of these lighters make sure that you get one that is refillable, unless you barely ever use them. When you purchase a new lighter every time you have to pay for the whole lighter, as a pose to just paying for the gas and canister. Some of these are even able to be filled up just by pushing a little nozzle into the canister.
A Propane Lighter is something that I would never go into the bush without; they are very important for lighting fires and your stove, and they are a lot more reliable than a pack of matches or a Butane Torch Lighter!
